OVERWHELMED!

Parents,

Allison and I cannot thank you enough for ALL of the wonderful gifts and surprises this morning. I am overwhelmed by all of the support and supplies that were sent in. I tried to explain to the kids it is like Christmas morning for a teacher. My “wish list” isn’t made up of toys but new fun school supplies. These are things I “want” to help make learning more fun not necessarily things we need for our classroom.

The kids are SO EXCITED to try out the bucket seats and “round wiggle seat” during reading workshop and how to use our new “STEM robot mouse”.  I think Ms. Rose and I are more excited about the laminator, pencil sharpener, sharpies, highlighters and fancy pens.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for helping me make learning fun for your little people. I am so blessed to be your child’s teacher and have a job I love!

Thanks again for all you do to support us!

Kelly

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year Rockstar families! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I am excited to see all my little people back tomorrow. Believe it or not, I missed them! 🙂

We do have a new student joining our class tomorrow and to further shake things up I have shuffled student seats around. A new seat, a new perspective, different table buddies, a new box of crayons and a new YEAR! We are off to a great start!

As many of you heard, we have a new class pet! Little Miss Lady Love is a robo hamster. If you are interested in taking her home for a weekend please email me and let me know. She has a little travel “home” but I will request that a parent pick her up and return her. She’s not big enough to ride the bus. 😉 You will not have to feed her and she is NOT allowed to leave her “house” once she goes home with you. She is super fast, a wiggly little booger and the flight risk is too great. Lady Love (aka: Lady, Elle, LL, Missy…) is nocturnal, VERY low maintenance, and we would love to share her with our rockstar families. She is super cute!

As a reminder, report cards will go home this Friday. Please sign the insert stating you received the report card  and return the envelope UNSEALED. You may keep the report card for your records.

I will send home a new weekly sheet next Monday. We do have PE on Friday so please have your little one wear tennis shoes!

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2018 and I hope to see you soon!

Stuffed Animal Day

Tomorrow the class has earned a reward for receiving 10 compliments. They are allowed to bring one small stuffed animal that can easily fit into their book bag. They will get to read to their stuffed animal during readers workshop!

Also, we won a story and treat with Mrs. Mavity for having the most box tops! Way to go!

We are looking forward to seeing you all on Friday for the feast. The class has been working hard to prepare for their performance of The First Thanksgiving!  Please check the shutterfly sight to sign up for a dish. Feel free to bring something not on the list as well. The more the merrier! We do have a student with a nut and egg allergy. If your dish contains either of those ingredients please mark it on your dish. Thank you!
