Tomorrow the class has earned a reward for receiving 10 compliments. They are allowed to bring one small stuffed animal that can easily fit into their book bag. They will get to read to their stuffed animal during readers workshop!
Also, we won a story and treat with Mrs. Mavity for having the most box tops! Way to go!
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Friday for the feast. The class has been working hard to prepare for their performance of The First Thanksgiving! Please check the shutterfly sight to sign up for a dish. Feel free to bring something not on the list as well. The more the merrier! We do have a student with a nut and egg allergy. If your dish contains either of those ingredients please mark it on your dish. Thank you!
Due back tomorrow! We will be going to the library tomorrow afternoon. Please make sure your little one has returned his or her book so they can check out a new one!
Thanks! I hope everyone had a wonderful break!
Has a babysitter! Thanks!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Happy HUMP Day!
Just a reminder to send in a “product” box for this Fridays STEM project. It can be a cereal box, cracker box, oatmeal box, etc. We have been warming up for Fridays project by talking about words like creative, observe, imagine and create. There challenge will be to build a playground for an ant! We have observed different playgrounds from all over the world, read books on how to be creative and transform something old into something fun and new. We are SO excited to become architects, sketch and create a playground for ants.
Also, I am looking for a pet sitter for our classroom pet. If you are staying in town and are willing to take “Red” our fish I would appreciate it. My family will be headed to Fort Morgan, AL for some much needed beach time and fishing. Please email me if you are interested!
Is tomorrow!!! Please send your child DRESSED in their costumes. Ms. Rose will be out helping with testing and it would be a huge help if your little one was all set and ready to parade around the track. Please meet us on the track at 8:30. We are asking that parents don’t come into the building due to continued testing after being out Monday and Tuesday.
Thanks for your patients and understanding!
Also…our tape player died. Yes, I said tape player. If you happen to still own a boom box from the 80’s with a cassette tape player and are willing to part ways with it ~ WE WANT IT! One of our literacy centers is listening to audio books. I still have the majority of my books on tape. I will also check Amazon…if they still exist outside of primary classrooms. To order one from and educational magazine would cost about $200!
Thanks bunches! See you tomorrow!
Parents: Due to testing in other grade levels we are going to move our Fundations Parade. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Our parade will now be:
Friday, September 15th @ 8:30 on the front track!
The class will be bringing home their second “letter book”. Please have your readers read you the book. We are learning about capital letters colored green to start sentences, periods colored red to stop sentences and sight words! We are working on identifying the pattern or words that repeat on each page. Be sure to ask them about the surprise ending! The last page is different!
Also, a reminder to dress your student in BLACK tomorrow, Wednesday 29. We are having a back out to help celebrate Mrs. Mavity’s BIG 50!
One more HUGE thank you for all the wonderful gift cards for my birthday. I went to Target and ended up buying new cube storage chairs for the back “horseshoe” table in the classroom. They were on clearance and they are a bright cheery blue. We love them! Thanks again!!!
First and foremost, THANK YOU ALL for helping make my birthday so special. You have spoiled me and I am so excited to go spend my gift cards on something special for just little old me…and not my children for a change! 🙂
Just a reminder, tomorrow is picture day. I failed to put that on the weekly sheet in take home folders. Also, we are sending home a yellow Highlights order form today. Please do not feel like you must place an order! If you are not interested simply check NO and SEND IT BACK IN. We will get supplies for the classroom if we receive enough replies, even if you are not interested! Just check no and send the yellow form back to class.
Thanks again for all the birthday love!
It has been brought to our attention that the “contact” pages on our teacher blogs are faulty. If you need to contact me you can email me directly [email protected] or send a note in the daily folder.
Also, please be sure to check and empty “take home” folders daily. This week I have included a “weekly sheet” as well as the first 5 letters of Kinderkeys. Be sure to always check the back of the weekly sheet for addition info, practice, tips & tricks.
I hope everyone has a great week!
