6th Grade Students have started  Unit 3 and  are learning  about expressions and equations. Students will continue to learn the basic algebra principles of exponents, order of operations and translating verbal expressions. Tutoring is offered by appointment only.

7th grade- Students are continuing with Unit 3. In this unit, students are learning about Rates and Proportions. This week students will focus interest rate, tax, discounts and commissions.  For extra practice, students should visit www.ixl.com/signin/floyd (username: lunch number, password: happy), www.khanacademy.com, and/or use their stay at home textbook. Tutoring is offered by appointment only.

8th grade Students have started Unit 3: Geometry and will learn about pythagorean theorems and how to calculate Pythagorean word problems. This week students will continue with Pythagorean theorem and will be introduced to volume. For extra practice, students should visit www.ixl.com/signin/floyd (username: lunch number, password: happy), www.khanacademy.com, and/or use their stay at home textbook. Tutoring is offered by appointment only.

HAPPY FALL BREAK!!!!

MATH STUDENTS: ALL MATH STUDENTS SHOULD COMPLETE A MINIMUM OF 1 HOUR OF ONLINE MATH PRACTICE OVER THE BREAK.

6th Grade should practice ratios, equivalent fractions, and dividing decimals.

7th grade should practice combining like terms, distributive property, and integers.

8th grade should practice square roots and cube roots, irrational/rational numbers, and plotting on the coordinate plane.

Panther Track:

Distance runners should get 10 miles in this week. The official start day is 10/2 at South Cobb High School from 5:15-6:30.

In this unit, students will learn about conversions, ratios, and rates.Students should be studying their Interactive Notebook daily. All students were issued textbooks to keep at home for additional resources. Students can retake a quiz or test with a score below a 70 only when prearranged either before or after school. Additional resources to use for assistance include: www.khanacademy.com; www.purplemath.com;  www.mathantics.com Students may also log on to www.ixl.com/signin/floyd for extra practice (username; student lunch number; password: happy). Students also have a textbook and may access the online textbook at connected.mcgraw-hill.com. Log- in is student lunch number and same for password.
