Today we spent quality time together making fun memories! We worked together to make applesauce and shared about why we are thankful. We created leaf creatures based on a book by Lois Ehlert and wrote super sentences to match! Pigeon was feeling left out so we decided to disguise him as a turkey too! After lunch we built turkey homes and turkey traps! Check Seesaw for some of their creations! We wrapped up the day by sitting around our carpet and sharing the treat we made as a class! They are our family & we are thankful to be a part of their story! Have a wonderful break!
East Side families, It is time for you to complete the Georgia Parent Survey. The data gathered from these surveys will be used as part of the calculation of East Side’s School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below. We ask for one parent from each family to complete the survey by Friday, December 15, 2017.

This class is all about THANKS and GIVING! We read this amazing book about a little girl who finds opportunities for kindness everywhere she goes! She’s not looking for attention, she simply wants to help others. It turns out, both the receiver AND the giver get something from simple acts of kindness! We took the challenge! Look at all of the ideas we shared about ways to show kindness to others. The kids are taking it from here! They’ve decided they want to be doers. Over the next few weeks, small groups will plan, prepare and complete some of these acts. We’re excited to see where their hearts will take them! We’ll keep you posted!
