Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! My name is Ms. Coyle, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! This is my second year teaching 4th grade at Pitner, and this will be my fifth year of teaching! I have previously taught Kindergarten and 3rd Grade in Conyers, Georgia, but I am so thankful to be back “home” in Cobb County! I attended Baker Elementary as a student, and I graduated from East Paulding High School before attending the University of Georgia! Go Dawgs! I graduated from UGA in the Fall of 2013 with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and I have also obtained my gifted endorsement during my career as a teacher. Additionally, I am currently working on earning my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. I will finish the program next summer! I have a passion for teaching and learning, and I love to share my joy of learning with my students! In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. You will often find me on a softball field, volleyball court, rock climbing, or hiking somewhere new!
I am looking forward to meeting you and your family at our Sneak-A-Peek on Monday, July 30th from 12pm-4pm. Students with last names beginning with A-L are invited to attend from 12 pm – 2 pm. Students with the last names beginning with letters M-Z are invited to attend from 2 pm – 4 pm. Please, do your best to stick to these time windows, as it allows me more time to greet families and students personally, but I will be happy to see you at any time! You may go ahead and bring in your supplies at this time if you have them, so we can begin getting you organized for the first day of school! Please, label any personal supply items (backpacks, lunchboxes, pencil boxes, etc.) with your child’s name.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. This year, we will be using Class Dojo as our daily and weekly “blog.” I used Class Dojo last year to communicate with families directly and post important updates, and I received very positive feedback from last year’s families about the site. When you come for Sneak-a-Peek, I will be able to get you set up with the system. I can’t wait to meet you, soon!
PS: I would LOVE it if your student would like to send me an email before the first day of school introducing themselves! This will help me get to know them before they arrive, and it would also be a great beginning of the year activity for them to get their brains focused on writing again! I will be sure to respond to their email if they choose to do this activity. This is, of course, completely optional!
