IDENT-A-KID

Ident-A-Kid Services of America is coming to Nickajack Elementary for a safety event on Friday, August 17. We are partnering with Ident-A-Kid to offer ID cards for our students. The IDs contain your child’s photograph, fingerprint, parent contact information, and other vital information on them. They are used in times of emergency and in times when you need to show ID.

Be prepared & order your child’s Ident-A-Kid card now!

The Ident-A-Kid program provides parents with an identification card that has your child’s photograph, fingerprint and vital information on it. The Ident-A-Kid card provides parents and law enforcement officials with crucial information should your child become lost or missing. Parents keep the card with them at all times and, in an emergency, can provide it to law enforcement for immediate response. In addition, the United States Government’s Social Security Administration recognizes the Ident-A-Kid Card. It also may be used as identification for travel, sports teams, extra-curricular activities, and more. Look for information coming home in your child’s backpack soon! To learn more about the program, visit http://www.identakid.com/. To order your ID cards, please visit http://identakid.com/paypal/blate-pay/

What a fun and exciting first week of school we have had!  The first week of kindergarten is all about learning the rules and routines and the students are adjusting nicely.  Please spend some time this weekend with your child discussing the importance of these.

We will begin our unit of My World (The Colors and Shapes Around Me) next week and we need your help.  Please have your child wear the following colors:  brown on Monday, red on Tuesday, yellow on Wednesday, green on Thursday, and blue on Friday.  Color Week 18-19-23s59l0

The students will be writing about colors and their shoes next week.  Please have your child wear tennis shoes to school on Friday.

Please make sure you fill out your child’s transportation form located in the  back of your child’s daily folder before returning to school on Monday.

If you have not yet done so, please send in a pencil box for your child to keep their supplies in.  The pencil box should be large enough to hold 2 pencils, 2 glue sticks, an eraser, a pair of scissors and a box of crayons.

On Friday we will be having Fun Food Friday.  This is always a big hit with the students. If you can help out, please sign up for an item on the provided list and send it  to school on Thursday.  http://sauerspleasebringit.pleasebringit.com/public/MZngD0GyEUo
