Block 1, 2, 4, & 5
Students were allowed 20 min to finish their Quickwrite on the story “Flipped.” This meant they were given 2 1/2 class periods to complete it.
Using pages 26-27 in the textbook, the class discussed the difference between subjective, objective, and possessive pronouns.
Homework: Complete the worksheet titled “Pronoun Practice.” Please note that sentence #2 and #7 have 2 pronouns in each, and sentence #3 has 4 pronouns in it.
Block 3 AC LA
Students copied notes in their composition book on reflexive and intensive pronouns. These are also described on page 20 in the textbook.
As a class we found examples of reflexive pronouns in the story “Flipped” on pages 19-23. (I will give bonus PBIS points to the first 5 students that message me through the online text with where an intensive pronoun can be found in the story.)
Using pages 26-27, we discussed the differences between subjective, objective, and possessive pronouns.
Homework: On a sheet of notebook paper, write an example sentence for each type of pronoun discussed today: subjective, objective, possessive, reflexive, and intensive.
