Students are able to complete the unit without their own book.

Block 1, 2, 4, & 5

As a class, we discussed how and why the two sample short stories were scored the way they were by the students yesterday. I encourage the students to look at their own writing in the same way when revising their own paper.

I also checked that students had their drafts completed. If a student did not have their draft in class today, they need to bring it to me asap to receive a late grade.

PLEASE NOTE: Last Tuesday, I checked that the students had completed questions 1, 2, & 3 on p. 86-87 and underlined ALL the parts of the story “The Fun They Had” that showed setting (time and place). If a student did not have this completed or did not underline much (some only marked the one sentence that gave a date), this can be corrected or finished and then brought back to me for a higher grade.

Homework- Be ready to continue revising your draft in class tomorrow.

Block 3 AC LA

Students received and we went over a checklist to help them revise their drafts.

Students then had about 25 minutes to begin revising. Students should be revising their drafts as closely as they graded the sample short stories. We will continue revising in class tomorrow.
