Good evening! The students enjoyed the Georgia Habitats speaker AND his snake friend this morning! Pictures will be posted soon!

This week, we are:

Reading: clarifying the meaning of unknown words. Later in the week, we will apply these vocabulary skills to science content.

Writing: writing informative texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly.  Students will write a holiday family newsletter all about main events in their lives during 2014! If your student would like to include their own pictures in their newsletters, please email them to me by Thursday morning.

Spelling: adding -ing to root words with Sort 15! Sort 15

Math:  partitioning shapes into equal parts and recognizing shared attributes among quadrilaterals. The KWL for the week is mostly focused on quadrilaterals. We will begin studying quadrilaterals specifically on Wednesday this week.

Science: comparing and contrasting color, texture, and particle size of top soils. Later this week, students will study the affects of weathering and erosion on rocks and soil.
