Happy Monday! Thanks to all the families who attended Open House!

This week, we are:

Reading: consistently and independently reading and comprehending complex literature. We are practicing reading strategies from CAFE (Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expand Vocabulary) with Because of Winn Dixie! We are using strategies such as predicting, back up and reread, and cross checking.

Writing: writing and revising our small moment narratives. We are learning how to be exciting story tellers and authors!

Language Arts: using nouns, verbs, and adjectives in complete sentences. Spelling words are long vowel words from Sort  2, which can be found on the back of the Newsletter. Sort 2

Math: using place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest tens and hundreds. This is our last week to master rounding! We are moving onto addition and subtraction next week!

Science: describing the physical attributes of rocks and minerals. Students observed rocks and minerals in the STEM Lab today!
