Good morning! We are back to somewhat of a normal routine! All third graders are practicing reading and writing skills from 8-10 am every morning! After that, we will touch on Math Workshop, Reading Workshop, and Language Arts.

This week, we are:

Reading: distinguishing our point of view from that of a character or narrator in a fictional text. We are practicing this with fairy tale characters!

Writing: writing narratives with our adapted fairy tales!

Language Arts:reviewing root words, prefixes, and suffixes. There will be no spelling for the next few weeks. Please review commonly misspelled words based on writing goals.

Math: fluently adding and subtracting within 1000 using strategies. We will learn the STANDARD ALGORITHM this week, also known as the old school method! Students will choose the strategy/strategies that help them add and subtract the most successfully!
