This week, we are:

Math: solving two step word problems including all four operations with an equation. This will be assessed on Thursday. Continue to practice multiplication facts before the ice cream party on May 19. Students who have already mastered their multiplication facts should work on division facts fluency before 4th grade begins.

Writing: revising, editing, and publishing opinion writing. We will practice presentation skills later  in the week in preparation for Monday’s Writing Celebration!

Reading: applying third grade reading skills with Because of Winn Dixie. Students are responsible for reading two chapters and answering corresponding comprehension questions every day! We will have a Because of Winn Dixie summative activity on Friday, May 12.

Language Arts: reviewing spelling strategies and writing in cursive. Students’ legible cursive handwriting will be assessed next week.

Social Studies: discussing how Cesar Chavez expanded freedoms for Americans. All Cesar Chavez assignments from class on Friday are due THIS Thursday! We will also assess Cesar Chavez this week.
