We have made it to the second quarter of third grade!

This week, we are:

Math: identifying patterns on a multiplication chart. Students are grasping patterns and strategies for memorizing multiplication facts 1-10. There is a word problem homework assignment being sent home today. It is due on October 23. Students may turn it in early if they finish before that date.

Writing: brainstorming topics and facts for informational writing. Students will select their own topic to research.

Reading: asking and answering questions in informational texts with text evidence.

Language Arts: using verbs in sentences.

Important Information:

Hispanic Heritage Day: On Friday, Teasley students will share and learn information about Hispanic countries all day long. Our class is researching Ecuador and will create a project in class to present on Friday. Due to this special day, we will resume Science and Social Studies instruction next week.

Perfect Attendance:  Congratulations to the following students who had PERFECT ATTENDANCE (0 absences and 0 tardies) for the 1st Quarter:

Thank you, parents, for getting your child to school on time every day!  Your child is allowed to dress down this Wednesday, October 11th and will receive a Chick-fil-A coupon for a free ice cream.  The count for the 2nd quarter is on and we would love to have at least half the class receive perfect attendance.

Early Release dates: Please note that Cobb schools will have early release this Thursday for teacher planning/meetings as well as all next week for conferences.

Book Fair: The book fair is coming! It will be held in the Media Center during conference week.
