This week, we are:

Math: multiplying single digit numbers by multiples of 10. This will be assessed on Thursday. There is a homework assignment due on Thursday.

Writing: revising, editing, and publishing informational writing. Students will share their informational writing on Thursday, December 7th at an expert extravaganza!  More information will be sent home on Friday.

Reading: identifying main idea and key details with text evidence. We will assess main idea for the second time this quarter on Thursday.

Language Arts: using subject-verb agreement in sentences. Previous skills (verbs, verb tense, and irregular verbs) are helping students use subject-verb agreement in their writing pieces. This will also be assessed on Thursday.

Science: making observations of fossils and evidence of how organisms lived long ago. The fossils homework is due this Friday.

Social Studies: Today, students received a study guide for the first three explorers (Columbus, Cabot, and Balboa). Students may study with this and their journals for the assessment this Friday. After taking the assessment, students will learn about the fourth explorer in our unit, Jacques Cartier.

Thanksgiving Feast: Our class will be feasting on Wednesday 12:50-1:30. We put the finishing touches on our centerpiece today and look forward to eating with our families!

Lunch on Tuesday and Thursday: Due to the Thanksgiving feasts this week, our class will have sack lunches from the cafeteria inside the classroom on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Students may bring their own lunch if they do not want a sack lunch.

Teasley Soccer Match: Come out and show your support for our Teasley Tigers soccer team, Friday November 17th, at 6:30 pm.  The game will take place at the Campbell High School football field.  Admission is free and open to the public.

Academic Alerts: Students who are currently demonstrating limited progress (1) in any report card standard will receive an academic alert on Thursday. Please sign and return on the next day (Friday).If you have any questions or concerns about your student’s progress in any area, let me know.

Multiplication Facts Update: This week, all students will receive a letter communicating which multiplication facts they have mastered so far this quarter. Continue to practice at home! Mastering facts helps students work more efficiently in many areas of math!
