Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful and lovely Thanksgiving week. The students are already working hard on their publishing!

This week, we are:

Math: using multiplication and division to solve one step word problems. This will be taught for the next two weeks and assessed at the end of next week. Students must write an equation with a letter standing for the unknown factor. There is a homework assignment due Thursday.

Writing: publishing writing pieces in the computer lab and practicing presentation skills. Students should be working on their expert day projects at home for the expert day on Thursday, December 7th at 9:30 am. Families are invited to view the presentations on that day!

Reading: reviewing reading informational texts skills: asking and answering questions, identifying main idea, gaining information from text features and text structures. All of these skills will be assessed again on Thursday.

Language Arts: adding and using prefixes.

Science: creating a model of fossilization. Students will create a clay model, perform a drama, or create a visual about fossilization. We will move onto health next Friday.

Social Studies: describing the exploration of Hernando de Soto.
