This week, we are:

Math: solving word problems using multiplication and division strategies with an equation containing a letter to represent the unknown factor. Students may practice at home with their “Work with Teacher” page or math workbooks. This will be assessed on Thursday.

Writing: practicing presentations for the Expert Extravaganza on Thursday at 9:30 am. Projects can be turned in by Thursday. We hope to see you there!

Reading: referring to parts of dramas in fiction texts. We will learn this beginning tomorrow and into next week.

Language Arts: understanding and adding suffixes to words.

Health: comparing and contrasting the negative side effects of illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. This was introduced by the counselors a few weeks ago. We will review this week and assess next Friday.

Social Studies: describing the motivations, obstacles, and accomplishments of Henry Hudson. This is our last explorer for this unit.

Important Information:

Barnes and Noble Night: Tomorrow night 4-7 pm! Come see teacher read-alouds, gift wrapping, chorus performance, and student artwork. I will be reading a holiday story 4:15! This is a great fundraiser for Teasley, even if you shop online throughout the next week with the Teasley code!

Class Wish List: Tissues, glue sticks, pencil erasers

Multiplication Facts: There will be ice cream celebrations for students who have mastered their facts before the end of the second quarter and at the end of the fourth quarter. Continue to practice at home! There has been a lot of progress! Keep it up!
