As a culminating activity for Social Studies, we will be having Colonial America Day on Wednesday, March 14th.  A letter was sent home last week about students dressing up as Colonial Americans for this fun day.  Pinterest has some great ideas for ways to create your costume from items that you may already have.  It will be an exciting day as we transform our classroom!    Since this day is an Early Release Day (students are dismissed at 12:20), we will spend the entire day living like the children did in Colonial America.  Students will be making butter, making and writing with a quill pen, creating silhouettes of themselves, making a small quilt, tasting “Johnny Cakes”, bartering/trading items, and flying kites at recess.  We want this to be a memorable day for your child!  In order to make this happen, we are asking for the several donations.  We will also need a few parent volunteers to help out this day.  If you are interested, please see the times and sign-up on the Sign-Up Genius.

We are asking that you bring in items by Monday, March 12.

Thank you so much for helping to make this a fun day for your child!
