Coming Up for the Week of December 17th

Wow!  What a busy week we’ve had!!  A 2 hour delay, an earthquake, a Spelling Bee, and STEM Day.  We are loving our new oral read, The Wild Robot, and we are reading about Roz, the robot, who is activated on an island and must learn to adapt.  We have learned and quizzed all about the plates on our Earth- major and minor!  We are even creating and testing paper airplanes for our STEM Challenge.

Here is what we are looking forward to next week:

*Reindeer Dash sales continue through Tuesday.
*NO Afterschool Clubs next week.

-FIELD TRIP to the KSU Holocaust Exhibit.  Please wear your CLASS T-SHIRT on Tuesday.

READER’S WORKSHOP:  We will be continuing to read articles in our new Story Works magazine.  We will also be continuing our oral read, The Wild Robot.  We will continue working on our using evidence from the text to answer questions about our reading.

SCIENCE:  In Science, we will finish our STEM challenge by improving our paper airplanes.  We will continue to learn about Constructive and Destructive Forces on the Earth.

SOCIAL STUDIES:  We begin learning about the Spanish American War and the Panama Canal.
