A Letter from the 5th Grade Committee

Hi 5th Grade Parents;

Can you believe you have a 5th grader who is nearing the end of their time in elementary school?  This year is flying by and we want our children to remember elementary school as the time of establishing long lasting friendships and fun-filled memories.  To do that, we would love your help.  Each year the 5th graders are awarded with a 5th grade celebration on the last week of school.  They are provided with a gift, bounce houses, Kona Ice, a DJ, games, treats and more.  The students also go on an end of the year field trip where they are provided with water and snacks.  The Pickett’s Mill Foundation is donating $1000 for these 5th grade activities.  While $1000 is quite a lot of money, more funding is needed to make this year a success.  In years past the 5th grade committee was able to raise an additional $1000 through fundraisers and donations.

We have compiled a list of items that you or someone you know may want to pay for/donate.  The Foundation will provide a receipt to anyone that donates.

Durham Shirts/Water Bottle: $450-$700

Kona Ice: $275

Bounce House: $375

DJ: $200

Photo & Frame: $125

Paper & Ribbon: $25

Photo Booth: $400

These are just some of the possible costs of the year’s events.  Any help with the events will be greatly appreciated and they are tax deductible, TIN 46-3624239.  Any and all monetary donations can be made payable to PMES Foundation, marked 5th grade celebration and placed in the black foundation box in the main hallway across from the fish tank.

If you would like to help, donate, or have questions please email Beth Schumaker at epalcer@hotmail.com.

Thank you for your help,

The 5th Grade Committee
