Good Afternoon!!  This week flew by!   In Reading this week, we continued our new oral read, Book Scavenger and we talked about more clues and characters we have found in the novel.  We began our new unit, Informational Writing, in Writing.  In Math, we continued learning about the multiplying decimals and dividing whole numbers and we discussed inherited traits and learned behaviors in Science.

Coming Up After Thanksgiving Break…

Good Afternoon!!  What a week we’ve had!   I apologize for not updating the blog regularly.  I had two sick kiddos at home and was absent.   In Reading this week, we continued our new oral read, Book Scavenger and we talked about the clues we have found in the novel.  We completed our Personal Narrative final drafts in Writing.  In Math, we continued learning about the multiplying whole numbers in word problems and continued to learn about the cell in Science.  We also completed a Parade Balloon STEM Challenge!

Coming Up for the Week of 11/18

Good Afternoon!!  We have had a great week!   In Reading this week, we began our new oral read, Book Scavenger and we talked about the characteristics of the Mystery genre.  Please have a mystery novel for independent reading next week. We worked on our Personal Narrative rough drafts in Writing and will begin typing our final copies next week.  Our final draft will be due next Friday.  In Math, we continued learning about the multiplying whole numbers in word problems and continued to learn about the cell in Science.  We compared the Plant and Animal cell and even used microscopes to look at cells.

We had our Class Spelling Bee today.  Congratulations to our winners- Baraka and Strider!!
