Wednesday, March 2 is Dr. Seuss’ Birthday and it is also Read Across America Day. We are going to celebrate all next week. Your child can help us celebrate by taking part in the spirit dress up days.
Monday, February 27- Fox in Socks day-Wear funny socks!
Tuesday, February 28- If I ran the zoo day- dress like an animal or wear animal print
Wednesday, March 1- Green eggs and ham day- Wear green
Thursday, March 2 – Dr. Seuss Day-dress up as your favorite Dr. Seuss character
Friday, March 3- Cat in the hat day- Wear a hat
Mrs. Metzger’s class loved using Kodable to code. This is a free app your kids can play at home.
You can download Kodable for free. Then choose:
-enter class code
-add class (this is a green plus sign)
-the code is space
-then choose your child’s name

Second grade used ChatterPix kids to wrap up their Martin Luther King Jr. unit. Here is one video.
First graders enjoyed learning how shadows were formed and creating their own shadow art. This was based on the work of Tim Noble and Sue Webster.
Students were given the following materials and asked to create a sculpture.

This is one of the finished products. The students told me that their shadow looked like 3 people dancing together.
