Hello Blackwell Families! You may have heard about the art show that is in combination with our STEAM Night, scheduled for March 29th. Over the past couple of years, I have linked a video to each student’s artwork. The video is a short presentation of your child’s artist statement that gives you a little insight into either the process they went through to make the picture or what the picture is supposed to be about (or possibly even both)! This entire process does require the use of an application called Aurasma. I would like to offer to link videos to your child’s artwork again this year. However, I am only doing so by request! Please submit the necessary information via the link below. It is okay to complete just 1 form for multiple children at Blackwell. If you do not want the video process for your child’s artwork, you do not have to respond at all! If you have any questions, you may certainly direct them to [email protected]. Thank you!
And also, we have had some people begin to sign up to help with the hollander paper-making machine. However, there are still many days left that we need help. It is the type of activity that the help is necessary. Without the help, we simply will not be able to do the activity. If you have been thinking about signing up, but just haven’t done it yet, please go ahead and get your name on the list 🙂
In art class, we have a big paper-making unit coming up in March. In order to pull it off, Ms. McKeehan will need some volunteers in the class. We have the hollander machine coming to visit our art classroom. It repurposes cloth material into paper pulp. If you would like to see it in action you can check out the video link below.
You have been invited by melissa mckeehan to sign up for “Hollander
Paper-making Volunteer Sign-Up”. Please click on the button below to
view the online sign up sheet. Thanks in advance for any and all of your help with this!

Is your child having difficulty finding books that he/she likes reading? The 3rd grade teachers have your answer! Attached are two lists of several different types of books for both girls and boys! Check it out! Many books list the Lexile l to help make sure your child is reading at their appropriate text level. Your child’s teacher has that Lexile level, so please don’t hesitate to ask!
