A fire safety packet was sent home today.  Please sign and return the waiver and permission slip. I’m also asking that your child does the fire safety homework over the break. Please return the whole packet stapled on Wednesday, February 28th.

Kidtalk and Six Flag Reading Logs

KiDtalk 2018 is here!

KiDtalk is a competition for Cobb students.  This year we’re asking students to tell us how they’re inspired.  Winners will speak to all Cobb teachers across the district during Learning Kickoff.  All KiDtalk submissions are due by April 13, 2018.  Visitwww.kidtalkcobb.com for complete competition details

Six Flags Reading Logs are due by Friday, February 16th.

Reminders and Upcoming Events

We are excited to have Jane O’Conner, the author of the amazing Fancy Nancy books, visit East Side tomorrow, February 8th.   To help spread our excitement AND show our appreciation and enthusiasm for Ms. O’Connor, we are asking that all students K-3, dress “fancy” tomorrow.

The Juliette Gordon Low test will be on Monday, February 12th instead of tomorrow.

The kids enjoyed the Performing Arts Field Trip “Beauty and the Beast.”  I apologize for the confusion with the note that my substitute teacher sent home yesterday about prepay sack lunches.  That information was incorrect.

Student Council will be selling Valentine’s Day candy grams Monday, February 12th to Wednesday, February 14th from 7:20-8:00 in the cafeteria. Each candy gram is $1.00 and can be sent to friends, family, or teachers. Please make sure your child knows the first/last name of who they are sending the candy gram to as well as their homeroom teacher.   Thank you for supporting East Side’s Student Council!

Please turn in Six Flags Reading Log by Wednesday, Feb. 14th so I can submit them on Friday, Feb. 16th before the break.

A small green slip for the National School Counselor’s Week was sent home in your folder today.  To celebrate, students may dress up as follows:

Monday (12th)- Movie Star Day

Tuesday (13th)- Super Career Day

Wednesday (14th)-Super Color Day

Thursday (15th)- Sports Day

Friday (16th) East Side Eagle Day

Field Trip Reminder

Please wear your yellow class t-shirts tomorrow for the Performing Arts Field Trip “Beauty and The Beast.” This will help us keep track of our students easier! Students should also wear tennis shoes and a coat depending on the weather. Also, don’t forget to bring a lunch from home or you can buy a sack lunch from the cafeteria. We will not eat lunch until we return to school around 1:00 P.M. It is important that everyone brings a snack to eat before we load on the buses at 9:45 A.M.

Important Reminders

*Please review Jackie Robinson study guide for the test on Wednesday.

Picture Day is Thursday, February 1st.  Please turn in picture money by Thursday!

We are excited to have Jane O’Conner, the author of the amazing Fancy Nancy books, visit East Side on Thursday, February 8th.   To help spread our excitement AND show our appreciation and enthusiasm for Ms. O’Connor, we are asking that all students K-3, dress “fancy” next Thursday.

Valentine’s Day and Reminders

If your child would like to bring in Valentines, please send in enough for the entire class (23) on Wednesday, February 14th. Please refrain from candy or edible treats due to allergies. You don’t need to address your Valentine’s to specific students. Please have your child decorate a Valentine’s box and bring it to school on Monday, February 12th. Thank you!

Also, you will be getting two order forms for books that are written by authors that are coming to share their books at East Side in the upcoming weeks. One is coming home today and one will come home next week. Buying the books are optional. Please do not combine the money if you plan on buying both books.

100th Day

*On Friday, January 26th, students may dress up like they are 100 years old for our 100th day of school! Due to scheduling conflicts, we will be celebrating in class in lieu of a parade.

*Green Progress Reports will not be going home this week due to the snow days last week.
