IB Topic:  How the World Works: Force and Motion

LA/Reading: Fiction vs. Nonfiction.  Story elements.  Beginning, middle, end. Stories will focus on pumpkins and the pumpkin life cycle

Phonics: Letters:  Vowels, CVC, word families.  Sight Words

Writing: Pumpkins, Halloween

Math:  Measurement, teen numbers(place value: tens and ones), 10 plus sum.  100 Chart.  Counting objects to 20.

Science: Force and Motion: Push and Pull

LA/Reading:  Story elements. main character, setting, problem, solution, and how details support the main idea. Stories will focus on Columbus, bats, owls, and day and night.

Phonics: Letters: CVC, word families.  Sight Words

Writing: Day and Night

Math: 3D shapes introduction, 2D shape review.  Counting groups of ten and more.  Counting to 100.
