Meet Ms. Casey
Welcome to my blog, and welcome to a new school year! Many of you are here because you have been forced to visit (i.e., you’re in my class). For everyone else, thank you very, very much for browsing my page. To my lovely students, I hope that you find this online journal to be a useful tool in enhancing your academic needs.
I am a former CCSD graduate; I attended Cobb schools throughout my entire childhood (Compton Elementary, Tapp Middle, McEachern High), and I even continued the Cobb legacy into my college years, as I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University. (Go Owls!) I received my Master’s degree from Piedmont College, and I am currently in my 9th year of teaching. I am also currently enrolled at the University of West Georgia, where I am pursuing my Leadership certificate. For this reason, I empathize with the heavy homework load my students have. I absolutely adore being an English teacher; my life is full of fun and chaos, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The majority of my free time is spent spoiling my four-legged child, Jackson (the world’s cutest Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix) and finding new recipes or unique restaurants on Food Network . I also enjoy concerts and theater, and I’m a fanatic Falcons fan (#RiseUP) and Cavs fan (#WhateverItTakes). As expected, I also enjoy a great book, and I’m frequently looking for exciting new title suggestions from my students.
Navigate this blog, and check back often for updates. Here you will find tons of useful information that will help you to be successful in class, including weekly agendas, assignments, test prep and vocabulary materials, and writing resources. You may even find the occasional picture of yourself, should I catch you being particularly studious on any given day.
I look forward to the school year, and as always, I encourage you to contact me if ever you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Ciao for now!
