Mrs. Babcock’s Class
August 12-16, 2019
Thank you to everyone that was able to attend our Open House. If you were not able to attend I sent home the information with your child.
Homework is starting! As I said at Open House it should not cause stress on your child or the family. It is meant to be easy and painless! When your child brings home their Homework Journal they are to complete at least 15 of the activities. In addition to completing the activities, they should be reading at least 15 minutes per night. This includes reading to you, listening to you or even reading by themselves. The Homework Journal should be returned on the last school day of the month.
Next Week Highlights
Reading- beginning Daily 5, Read to Self, learning about the three different ways to read a book and building our reading stamina
Phonics– reviewing the short vowel sounds
Math– data collection and using graphs to show the information
Social Studies– what is means to be a good citizen
*Wednesday is picture day. The information came home on Thursday and if you would like to purchase your child’s picture please send in the money on Wednesday. All students will get their picture taken for the yearbook.
