Read for the Record 2020

Read for the Record has been postponed due to inclement weather on October 29th.  It is now rescheduled for next Thursday, November 5th. 

It’s Fall, y’all…which means it’s time for the 5th annual Fall Read-a-thon!Read for the Record is now scheduled for Thursday, November 5th. Join Cobb ELA and the Instructional Technology Department as we celebrate the wonderful world of books!  This shared reading event is the largest in the nation, bringing millions of people together through the joy of reading.  This is the 15th anniversary of this national campaign, which was formed to address the importance of every child being prepared to succeed in school through the development of language and literacy skills. 

This year we have another exciting read aloud with Evelyn Del Rey Is Moving Away by Meg MedinaThis timely book beautifully showcases the power of friendship, change, and connections.  Click here for a book trailer.

On Thursday, click on the book title below to join the Microsoft Teams live read aloud.  (Links will be live on the day of the event.)

Readings can be seen live for F2F students using the links below, but if you would like for your remote students and F2F students to listen to a story together please play one of the pre-recorded sessions  (listed at the bottom of the page) that will be available on Thursday. The recordings will be available through the end of the day on November 6, 2020.
