MLK Day…….No School January 21, 2019

Parents,

Please encourage your child to complete their HW each and every night.  It is important review of the skill and concepts they learn in class.  All HW is review of what is taught. Many students are coming to school with several incomplete assignments, or many times , HW is not even attempted! We appreciate your support regarding this matter!

Have a great long weekend!

Happy New Year 2019

Welcome back to the first week of 2019!  It’s amazing that half of the school year is behind us, however we still have so much to learn!  Some reminders we begin 2019…..

  • Please be sure to sign your child’s agenda each and every night.
  • We have a new Daily Behavior Sheet, check out to see how your child’s behavior is on a daily basis and initial.
  • We will have our Fire Safety lesson here at school on Jan. 18th.
  • We will be having our Fire Safety Village field trip on Jan. 25th.
  • Please encourage and remind your child to come to school with a positive attitude for learning each and every day!
  • Thanks for all that you do to support our classroom!
  • Please do not hesitate to reach me via email with any questions or concerns!

Just Letting You Know

Parents, it was such a delight to talk with you about your child’s progress during conference week. Don’t forget tomorrow night is Spooky Science Night from 6:30 to 7:30 in the cafeteria. We are now entering the second quarter of school. Your child will be learning many new skills this quarter. We will be writing opinion essays, learning and reading various text structures,  multiplying and dividing one and two digit numbers, learning about how our government was developed and investigating ecosystems . We have attached videos that you child can listen to to help reinforce  basic multiplication facts.  Please  continue to support us by having your child complete his or her homework each night. As always, please email us with any concern you may have.

Parent Survey

Dear Lewis Families,

Thank you so much for your participation and support during conference week.  It’s great to see so many of you in our building this week.  We appreciate you taking your time to have meaningful conversations with your child’s teacher.  We value the relationship with you and the success that comes from working together.

Its now time to complete the Georgia Parent Survey administered by the state.  You may complete the survey using a personal computer, smartphone or tablet.  I appreciate your participation in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.  Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. Please access the survey by clicking on the link below.
