Lessons Plans 5/13/19- 5/22/19:

Monday, May 13th, students will complete their favorite math topic created  foldable graphic organizer using a rubric. Tuesday is 7th grade field day. Wednesday and Thursday we will complete a power point packet that focuses on reviewing the number system. Friday, and the following Monday, May 20th, we will complete a power point packet that focuses on reviewing equations and expressions. The last 2 days of school are early release days.

We will also continue to review identifying integers on a number line; computing absolute value; describing integer situations; along with adding , subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers; ordering fractions on a number  line; computing fractions (+,-,x,/); naming types of decimals; converting fractions, decimals, percents and comparing and ordering rational numbers, all from the topics we have covered in Unit 1.  In addition we will continue to review  order of operations, exponents,  properties of operations, the distributive property, evaluate/solve algebraic expressions using substitution, combining like terms, adding and subtracting linear expressions and one and two step equations with graphing and one and two step inequalities with graphing with word problems and verbal expressions, all from which we have covered in Unit 2. We will also continue to review what we have learned in Unit 3: identifying, setting up and solving ratios, rates, unit rates,  creating and identify equivalent fractions, solving complex fractions and converting unit rates, setting up and solving proportions that also include word problems, finding the rate of change in tables and graphs, finding the constant of proportionality, proportional relationships involving similar figures and findings dealing with percent: percent of a number, conversions, estimation, percent proportions and equations,   percent of change, percent of sales tax/tip/mark ups/discounts and scale factor. We will also continue to review what we have learned in Unit 4 which encompasses the following topics:  identifying angle measures, supplementary, complementary angles, vertical and adjacent angles, triangular measurements, constructing triangles and slicing solids/cross sections, finding the circumference and area of a circle,  finding the volume of a cube, rectangular and triangular prism along with the volume of a pyramid, and finding the surface area of rectangular and triangular prisms and pyramids. Please review all these topics along with the topics learned in (Unit 5 Inferences ) and (Unit 6 Probability)  in preparation for the Milestone Test.

Monday and Tuesday we will review statistics and inferences,  then take a summative on these topics. We will then go to the computer lab on Wednesday and review previously learned 7th grade math topics using various website. Thursday and Friday we will take a test on Unit 4 which encompasses the following topics:  identifying angle measures, supplementary, complementary angles, vertical and adjacent angles, triangular measurements, constructing triangles and slicing solids/cross sections, finding the circumference and area of a circle,  finding the volume of a cube, rectangular and triangular prism along with the volume of a pyramid, and finding the surface area of rectangular and triangular prisms and pyramids.

We will also continue to review identifying integers on a number line; computing absolute value; describing integer situations; along with adding , subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers; ordering fractions on a number  line; computing fractions (+,-,x,/); naming types of decimals; converting fractions, decimals, percents and comparing and ordering rational numbers, all from the topics we have covered in Unit 1.  In addition we will continue to review  order of operations, exponents,  properties of operations, the distributive property, evaluate/solve algebraic expressions using substitution, combining like terms, adding and subtracting linear expressions and one and two step equations with graphing and one and two step inequalities with graphing with word problems and verbal expressions, all from which we have covered in Unit 2. We will also continue to review what we have learned in Unit 3: identifying, setting up and solving ratios, rates, unit rates,  creating and identify equivalent fractions, solving complex fractions and converting unit rates, setting up and solving proportions that also include word problems, finding the rate of change in tables and graphs, finding the constant of proportionality, proportional relationships involving similar figures and findings dealing with percent: percent of a number, conversions, estimation, percent proportions and equations,   percent of change, percent of sales tax/tip/mark ups/discounts and scale factor. Please review all these topic in preparation for the Milestone Test.

Lessons Plans 3/25/19 thru 3/29/19:

This week in my class we will continue (Unit 4  Geometry ). Monday and Tuesday will focus on finding the volume of a rectangular and triangular prism along with the volume of a pyramid.
