Lesson Plans April 28,2014 thru May 2, 2014

This week in class we will be taking the CRCT test on Monday and Tuesday. It’s very important that your child is at school and on time every day. Please make sure that they have enough sleep the night before each test, and have an appropriate breakfast every morning. Now is the time to make sure that they are still continuing to review the study guide posted on their teacher’s Blog for every subject. After the CRCT we will review units 1-7. If you have access to the internet at home, please go to the website AAAmath.com. Once you’re on the website, please go to 6th grade and click on the topic which supports your child’s math deficit. The website list steps on how to work the problems along with giving examples. It will let your child know if they miss the problem, while giving them the correct answer before moving onto the next problem. Parents please remember to check synergy a few times per week in order to keep up with your child’s progress.

If you have any additional questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please feel free to contact any of their teachers (Faculty and Staff email addresses can be found at Griffin’s website: http://www.cobbk12.org/Griffin/).

Due to missed school, as a result of the inclement weather in January and February, Griffin Middle School teachers have worked to create an academic recovery plan for our students.  In 6th grade Math, teachers have adjusted our pacing calendars, which will allow us to teach, assess, and remediate all required state standards prior to the CRCT.  As a result, students will not be negatively impacted by the time missed due to the inclement weather.  In addition, teachers have planned tutoring sessions, which will take place before and during the school day, to further assist students prior to the CRCT.  If you have any additional questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please feel free to contact any of their teachers (Faculty and Staff email addresses can be found at Griffin’s website: http://www.cobbk12.org/Griffin/).

Also, the website below contains the 6th grade math CRCT study guide. Parents please have your students continue to review the study guide on a daily basis. Thank you.
