Lesson Plans February 1, 2016 thru February 5, 2016:

Make it great week. Please remember if you need further assistance, you can leave me a message at    678-842-6917 to which I will respond to as soon as possible. You can also reach me by email at [email protected] , in which you are sure to receive a quicker response.

We will continue with Unit 5  this week, which focuses on Linear Functions.  On Monday and Tuesday, we will learn how to find the slope and y-Intercept of an equation in non-standard form. On Wednesday and Friday, we will learn how to graph lines in slope intercept form in two different ways. We will conduct our DRAW (Discuss, Read and Write) lesson on Thursday, which focuses on solving word problems in slope intercept form.
Please continue to review how to set up and write the equation of a slope in slope intercept form, how to find the slope and y-Intercept of an equation in non-standard form and how to graph lines in slope intercept form in two different ways.
Please visit the website AAAmath .com as a review resource for your child in math and have them review their graphic organizers and classwork on a daily basis, regardless if they have  homework or not. This will ensure them comprehending and retaining the information learned in class.  Thank you.

We will conclude with Unit 4  this week, which focuses on Functions. We will take our Unit 4 Test staring Monday, completing it on Tuesday. We will start Unit 5 on Wednesday, which starts with a review of finding the slope of a line within a graph. We will continue our review on Thursday, focusing on finding the slope, y-intercept and coordinates in a graph. We will also take a quiz on these concepts on Thursday. We will complete a PBL lesson, Slope Word Problems, on Friday.
Please continue to review substituting for equations, being able to determine whether a table is a function or non-function, whether a graph is a function or non-function by doing the vertical line test,  and whether maps and ordered pairs are functions or non-functions,  how to determine linear functions using the vertical line test, how to determine if algebraic equations are functions or non-functions and if they are linear or non-linear and how to set up and write the equation of a slope in slope intercept form. All these concepts will be on the Unit 4 Test on Monday and Tuesday.
