Lesson Plans October 28, 2016 thru November 4, 2016:
This week, we will continue Unit 2 ( Exponents and Equations). Monday we will introduce how to compute negative exponents. Tuesday, we will continue with negative exponents that involve multiplying and power to power exponents also. Wednesday, we will begin computing zero power exponents. Thursday is our annual DRAW (Discuss, Read, Analyze and Write) lesson. We will continue the DRAW lesson from last Thursday, that focused on computing exponents (multiplying, dividing and power to power). Friday the students will review computation of all the exponents that we have learned up to this point and take a Unit 2 Exponent Assessment which will count as a summative grade.
Students please continue to review integer computation, solving 1 and 2 step equations, plotting and identifying points on a coordinate plane, computing exponents, cubed roots, perfect and non-perfect squares and cubed roots with and with out estimation, negative square roots, rational and irrational numbers, along with what we have previously learned in class on a daily basis, inclusive of your homework assignments. These skills will be used throughout 8th grade in every unit. These skills are imperative to learn in order to progress this school year!!
Please check the Griffin website for all before and after school tutoring days and times and Saturday School information for students needing extra help.
