Lesson Plans and Important Information March 13, 2017 thru March 17, 2017

I  hope everyone is still enjoying the 8th grade at Griffin Middle School, time is flying by, we are coming closer to the end of the school year! Please feel free to contact me about any questions or concerns you may have. Lesson Plans March 13, 2017  thru March 17, 2017

 At the beginning of each class period, we will continue reviewing for our Math Milestone test which will be given  April  24th and 25th. We will continue Unit 6 this week, which focused on Linear Models and Tables. Monday  we will continue learning how to identify and create scatter plots and correlations. Tuesday we will learn how to create and find the line of best fit in a scatter plot. Wednesday we will take an assessment on the topics we covered in the unit this far ( scatter plots, correlations, linear word problems, and line of best fit). Thursday and Friday we will learn how to interpret motion and qualitative graphs.

Students please continue to review integer computation, solving multi-step equations, plotting and identifying points on a coordinate plane, computing exponents,  cubed roots, perfect and non-perfect squares and cubed roots with and with out estimation, negative square roots, rational and irrational numbers,  converting, adjusting, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in scientific notation,and computing using the Pythagorean theorem, finding the volume of a cylinder, cone and sphere, functions and relations, linear and non linear equations and word problems, slopes and y intercepts, graphing slope equations, and scatter plots, line of best fit, correlations, motion and qualitative graphs, along with what we have previously learned in class on a daily basis, inclusive of your homework assignments. Most of these skills will be used throughout 8th grade in every unit.  These skills are imperative to learn in order to progress this school year!!
