Coach Kevin Copeland is a Harrison graduate and was a member of the first tennis team at Harrison High School. During his senior year, Coach was named as the Most Valuable Player and served as captain. Coach earned a tennis scholarship to play at Young Harris College. After finishing his studies at Young Harris, Coach continued his education at Kennesaw State University. Coach Copeland began his teaching career at West Cobb School. After teaching at West Cobb School for one year, he then went on to teach at East Paulding High School, where he taught economics, government and journalism. Coach also served on the fastpitch softball staff. During his final year at East Paulding, he was awarded by the students and staff as Teacher of the Year for the 2003-’04 school year. Coach Copeland has been teaching AP Human Geography for 10 years. After school, Coach serves as an assistant in the Hoya Fastpitch Softball program and is the Head Men’s Tennis Coach. Coach, his wife and son reside in Dallas and are part of a local church ministry. In his spare time away from school, Coach enjoys fishing, cycling, carpentry, landscaping and watching college football. Coach is very excited for the upcoming 2017-’18 school year and once again, experiencing the blessing of being a teacher and coach.
