Teachers now have the option to provide feedback to students when scoring constructed response items on the rubric in Matrix view. This new feature gives teachers the ability to provide timely feedback that students can easily access in the Enhanced CTLS Assess student portal (CTLS Assessment icon on CCSD devices).
Once the assessment that needs scoring is located, the teacher can access the Add/View Feedback button from the Matrix view and easily provide feedback for each constructed response item.
Click here for directions on providing feedback and how students access the feedback.
New features are coming to your Enhanced CTLS Assess dashboard on Monday, February 3rd thanks to the feedback from CCSD teachers and leaders.
These exciting new features include:
Teachers will have the ability to add student feedback to individual constructed response questions. Students will be able to login and view the feedback using the CTLS Assess student portal.
Teachers will be able to add users from other schools to their assessment so they are able to more effectively collaborate. This will allow them to edit and/or copy the assessment.
When proctoring an assessment, users will see a drop-down menu to filter classes by term (quarter/semester/year). This will streamline the process of selecting classes/rosters when proctoring and scoring rubrics.
A second option has been added that will allows users to print an answer key that includes the questions and highlighted answers. The items also include the standard and DOK level.
Assessment sharing will be updated so teachers can share with their local school or teacher group.
Local school administrators will be able to create teacher groups which will allow members of the group to share assessments and view data by teacher group.
Assessments that contain items with external links will automatically disable the test locking feature for that assessment.
District Administrators and School Administrators will now have a new Incite Usage Metrics report.

Now that the 2018-2019 school year is underway, it is important that teachers take a moment to locate and review the Touchstone assessments and Blueprints in CTLS Assess. The assessments and blueprints were revised over the summer by teams of teachers alongside the Assessment and Personalized Learning department.
After accessing CTLS Assess, locate the Resources widget and drill down into the correct folders for your level, subject/course, etc. There you will find the current assessments and blueprints as PDF documents for you to review changes and additions as well as to print as needed.
You will notice the addition of constructed response items on some Touchstone assessments. For assistance with entering constructed response scores, click HERE for directions or contact your local school TTIS for support.
If you need additional support with CTLS Assess or iRespond, please contact your local school TTIS. If you have questions specific to the Touchstone assessments or blueprints, have your local school CTLS Assess contact reach out to the Assessment Supervisor for your local school.
CTLS has a great new enhancement that will make reviewing Constructed and Extended Response scores even easier! When you are analyzing data using the Questions tab, you can still review Constructed Response (CR) and Extended Constructed Response (XCR) questions and see how students scored ranging from 0-5+. Previously, when CR and XCR results were reviewed with the checkbox, teachers could only see X’s for student scores with no breakdown of individual scores higher than 5. Now, when you click the checkbox to view individual student CR and XCR results, you can now see the exact number of points each student earned for the question! This makes easy to see which students demonstrate proficiency and which students need additional support.
Scoring constructed response questions in CTLS Assess has just gotten a little easier with 2 new enhancements!
Now, teachers can close an assessment in Rubric View from the class roster. Remember, scores will not post to Synergy until the assessment is closed. When you have entered and saved your rubric scores individually, click on the class, and you should see a list of all students and their scores for confirmation. Remember, you can change the way your class is listed by clicking Class Schedule, Period, or Teacher.Click Save score (s) and then you can click on Close Test for This Class.
If you close an assessment before entering in all of the student rubric scores, or need to make a correction to a score, you can now REOPEN an assessment with constructed response questions. In the Results Widget, click on the score icon. From the list of Options, select Reopen Test for ALL Classes.
Your assessment will now appear at the top of your Digital Assessments list. Click on the score icon and choose Rubric Score Entry.
