Performance Distribution in Incite Analytics

Incites Analytics gives users the option to view the performance distribution for assessment standards. This displays the percent of students whose average score falls into selected range of scores.  This allows users to  select and view a more specific data set by standard for one or more assessments.

To access this feature in Incite Analytics, select Performance Distribution from the Report By drop-down menu.  Use the Performance Scale slider to choose the score range you want to view.

The scores are highlighted in a gradient blue color which gets darker as the percentage of students who fall within the score range increases (See the score chart below).  If there is a zero percent for the score range, that cell will be colored gray.  Note: The Beginning, Developing, Proficient, and Distinguished Performance Scale to the left of the screen are disabled.

NEW Answer Key Printing Option – Available February 3rd

A second answer key option has been added based on teacher request. The Print Answer Key option allows users to print an answer key that includes the assessment questions and has answers highlighted in yellow. The items also include the standard and DOK level.

One way users can locate assessments to print answer keys is in test manager.

A second way to print an answer key is to navigate to the Assessments–>Search and click on the title of the test. Next, navigate to Administer tab and select Print Assessment–>Print Answer Key. This option works with local school assessments only.

Great Things Are Coming to Enhanced CTLS Assess!

New features are coming to your Enhanced CTLS Assess dashboard on Monday, February 3rd thanks to the feedback from CCSD teachers and leaders.

These exciting new features include:

  • Teachers will have the ability to add student feedback to individual constructed response questions.  Students will be able to login and view the feedback using the CTLS Assess student portal.
  •  Teachers will be able to add users from other schools to their assessment so they are able to more effectively collaborate.  This will allow them to edit and/or copy the assessment.
  •  When proctoring an assessment, users will see a drop-down menu to filter classes by term (quarter/semester/year).  This will streamline the process of selecting classes/rosters when proctoring and scoring rubrics.
  • A second option has been added that will allows users to print an answer key that includes the questions and highlighted answers.  The items also include the standard and DOK level.
  •  Assessment sharing will be updated so teachers can share with their local school or teacher group.
  •  Local school administrators will be able to create teacher groups which will allow members of the group to share assessments and view data by teacher group.
  •  Assessments that contain items with external links will automatically disable the test locking feature for that assessment.
  • District Administrators and School Administrators will now have a new Incite Usage Metrics report.

Contact your local school TTIS for support with these new updates that will be available on your dashboard on Monday, February 3rd.

NEW Accessibility Tools Available in Student Testing Portal

New testing tools are now available for students to use while completing online assessments. In addition to the read aloud testing tool, a line reader and color contrast option have now been added to Enhanced CTLS Assess for student use. These new tools are designed so that all users can gain access to the content with the needed support.

Line Reader

The line reader tool allows students to highlight a single line of text (or more) to help the student focus while reading. This type of tool is a common accommodation provided to students by teachers and can now be enabled for students from the proctor page after the test has been enabled.

Once enabled from the Testing tools tab, students will see it appear on their toolbar and can click on the icon to turn it on. Notice that the right bottom corner of the line reader has a caret. Students can click and drag the line reader so that it encompasses more lines of text. Students can disable the line reader at any time by clicking on the red line reader icon.

Color Contrast

The color contrast tool allows students to adjust the color of the background and text to better view the information. Students can choose from different color combinations that alter the background color and font color. Once enabled from the Testing tools tab, students will see it appear on their toolbar. When the student hovers over the Color Contrast icon, a drop-down appears that allows them to select the desired color combination.

Students can disable the line reader at any time by hovering over the icon and then selecting the default of Black on White.

Enhanced CTLS Assess-Widgets and Reports

Widgets

Have you ever wished you could get an “at a glance” look at certain types of data without having to navigate through full reports? Now, with easy to customize widgets, you can determine what snapshots of data you would like to see on your dashboard when logging into Enhanced CTLS Assess.

Simply click the plus sign under the navigation menu on your dashboard page, title your custom widget page, and then click “add widgets” to select the ones you want.

Reports

One of the most widely celebrated enhancements to CTLS Assess is the variety and ease of navigation of reports! You now have the ability to view reports at the school, teacher, and student level, and most reports are “nested”. This means you can easily drill in for more specific results without having to click in and out of pages to see more or different data.

Click HERE to access the new Reports Guide which gives an overview of various reports that teachers can access.

Enhanced CTLS Assess-Freshly Paved Roads

For the past several years, you’ve been learning to “drive” your instruction using CTLS Assess and iRespond. We’ve been monitoring the traffic cams (AKA-your feedback!) and have gathered ideas in order to bring you an enhanced version of CTLS Assess! Newly paved roads will get you to your data more easily, bridges to allow you to bring in your already-created assessments as PDFs, and so much more!

Some of our CCSD teachers have been test driving the new model, and we wanted to highlight a few of their favorite enhancements for you.

  • Ability to upload full assessments into CTLS Assess as an external PDF.
  • Robust Item Bank, including new technology-enhanced questions (such as “drag and drop”)
  • Ability to compare more than one assessment side by side when viewing data.
  • Customizable dashboard including widgets which provide snapshots of data at a glance.

Be on the lookout for communication from your local admin and your school’s driving instructor (AKA-TTIS) regarding opportunities for support and training as you begin to navigate these improved roads!

Note: Optimal viewing for this video is Google Chrome.

Multi-Select questions are now supported in CTLS Assess!

You can now create multi-select questions in CTLS Assess. Creating multi-select questions is a great way to prepare students for the Georgia Milestone. The grading for the multi-select questions mimics the grading for the multi-select questions you would find on the Georgia Milestone set by the GA DOE.
