Get your TKES on with CTLS and iRespond!

Are you looking for documentation to demonstrate how you are meeting Performance Standards 5 & 6 of the Georgia Department of Education Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES)? Have you considered iRespond and CTLS Assess?  iRespond provides teachers with a tool to quickly and frequently assess for student learning.  Assessment for learning is when teachers gather, analyze, and use the assessment data to measure student progress, guide their instruction, and give students timely feedback. CTLS Assess is the tool for you to do just that. With CTLS Assess, you can analyze the data collected from assessments to measure student progress, inform your instruction, and provide timely feedback to both students and parents.

You can use iRespond for a variety of assessment types; diagnostic, formative, and summative. One of the benefits of using iRespond to give assessments and CTLS Assess to review data from given assessments, is that they provide documentation for meeting Performance Standards 5 and 6 of the Georgia Department of Education Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES). The standards state:

Performance Standard 5: Assessment Strategies – The teacher systematically chooses a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies and instruments that are valid and appropriate for the content and student population.

Performance Standard 6: Assessment Uses – The teacher systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses relevant data to measure student progress, to inform instructional content and delivery methods, and to provide timely and constructive feedback to both students & parents.

Once an assessment is given, you can go to CTLS Asses and run reports on student performance. You can use the data from the report to plan your instruction, differentiate lessons, and provide feedback to students and parents. You can attach the reports to your lesson plans for administrators to review as part of your TKES documentation.
