Blocks 1, 2, 3, 5: Today in class we finished presentations of our chapters and began comparing/contrasting scenes from the book with scenes from the video.

HW 1, 2, 3, 5: MAKE SURE YOU GO TO CLASS INFORMATION BLOCKS 1, 2, 3, 5 AND TAKE THE MIDDLE SCHOOL SURVIVAL VOCABULARY ASSESSMENT #1

Block 4: Today in class was our final day in the computer lab. If you did not finish your presentation, you should have saved it to your Office 365 account so that you could continue working at home. We are back in the classroom tomorrow.

Block 4: Anyone who did not finish taking the Middle School Survival Vocabulary Assessment #1 needs to complete it!

Blocks 1, 2, 3, 5: Today in class you had a bit of time to finish up your partner/group presentations and then we began sharing our chapters with the class. We will continue sharing tomorrow.

Block 4; Today in class we were in the computer lab (YIKES – the one next door to the drums!). We will be in the same lab tomorrow to continue working on historical fiction presentations, so maybe bring some headphones/earplugs?

Blocks 1, 2, 3, 5: Today in class you continued reading and taking notes on your assigned chapters from our novel. Many of you were able to start meeting with your partners/groups to discuss the chapters and determine the most important information to share with the class. Tomorrow and Friday you will be working on your visualization from the chapters and we will begin presenting the book on Monday.

Blocks 1, 2, 3, 5: Today in class we reviewed the elements of plot and practiced identifying the elements by using animated videos shorts.

HW 1, 2, 3, 5: None

Block 4: Today in class we finished our discussion about our novel and you had a bit of time to complete your review sheet. You will have a test over the novel tomorrow (it’s all multiple choice…). Remember that you need to choose an historical fiction novel and begin reading. You need to divide your novel into thirds. You should have the first third read by Monday, December 4.

Blocks 1, 2, 3, 5: Today in class you finished your Q2 touchstone and entered your responses into iRespond. Then you had the opportunity to go to the media center if needed to complete your performance tasks. You also read and completed the REAP graphic organizer for an informational article. Remember, this is a graded assignment, and I will also allow the score you make on this article to replace a low classwork grade.

Block 4: Today in class you entered your responses from the Q2 touchstone into iRespond, then started formulating your arguments for one of the questions posted around the room. We started discussing the questions, but ran out of time so will continue that tomorrow.
