Blocks 1, 3, 5: Today in class you finished your summaries about the hunger documentary. Then we started discussing our new unit “Is Seeing Believing?”. You talked at your tables and then with the class about whether we have to see something to believe it and can we believe everything we do see?

Blocks 2, 4: Today in class we started a new novel. We will be continuing this novel for the next 2+ weeks.

Blocks 2, 4: Today in class you started working on vocabulary for our next novel study. Those who needed to finalize magazines were able to do that as well.

Blocks 1, 3, 5: Today in class we continued our documentary about hunger in the United States. You should have finished your questions today as we watched. I will go over all the information next class period to make sure you have everything correct.

Blocks 2, 4: Today in class was a redemption day for making up any missing assignments.

HW 2, 4: None…your magazine projects are now your responsibility to complete before or after school.

Blocks 1, 3, 5: Today in class we started discussing the issue of hunger in the United States. We completed the first two parts of a KWL chart (what I know about hunger, what I want to know about hunger). Then we took a hunger facts quiz together and found out some interesting and sometimes surprising facts about hunger. Finally, we started watching a documentary about hunger in the United States. You should have gotten the answers to the first couple of questions on your handout from what we saw today.

HW 1, 3, 5: None

 You CAN do it…you are prepared! Please make sure you have several #2 pencils (NOT mechanical) with you tomorrow. Also, be sure you bring a pleasure reading book for after the test is finished. NO: water bottles, cellphones, fitbits, apple watches, etc. are allowed during testing.

Blocks 1, 3, 5: Today in class you took the final test over our novel. You should have turned in your book report as well.

HW 1, 3, 5: None – get a good night’s rest and eat a healthy breakfast!

Blocks 2, 4: Today in class we were able to have the computers in the media center to work on our magazines.

Blocks 1, 3, 5: today in class we finished our novel. You also had time to enter your touchstone answers into iRespond and you received a new warm up.

Blocks 2, 4: Today in class you finished the touchstone and then worked with your magazine group. I am still working on computer access for us this week so that we can finish.

HW 2, 4: None…but if you did not turn in your twitter summaries and your character charts, they are now officially late
