Week of May 13th – Last full week of school

May13

~I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

~This is our last full week of school! I can not believe how fast the year went. I have truly enjoyed having each of your children this year. The growth they have made is amazing! I will miss them all!

~Please send in a self-addressed envelope with two stamps. This will be used to mail your student’s final report card and a few other items home at the end of the school year.

~May 14th – Muffins with Mom (A-M)
~May 15th – Muffins with Mom (N-Z)
~May 16th – Anne Frank Play 8:00 am
~May 17th – Class party at Oakwind
~May 20th – 5th grade party

~I am SO proud of how hard all the kids worked during testing! Today was our last day for the Milestones EOG testing!

Week of April 29th

~Tomorrow is cap and gown pictures. They are asking for the girls to wear their hair down.  We will start around 8:30.

~We have testing Thursday and Friday this week from 12:00-2:00. We will test science on Thursday and social studies on Friday. Please have your child review with the power points on my blog. We will also review in class.

Week of April 22nd

~We will be testing Monday and Tuesday for math sections 1 and 2.  We will test in the afternoon from 12:00-2:00.  There is a math review on my blog that the students can review. I also recommend for them to practice on their Khan Academy account.

~Friday, April 26th is our 5th grade kickball tournament.

~Cap and Gown pictures will be Tuesday, April 30th.

Week of April 15th

~Registration cards went home on Friday. Please verify the information is correct and sign the back. Only the enrolling adult can make changes. Please make the changes in blue ink. Please return these by Friday, April 19th.

~Testing went well last week! We do not have any testing this week, however, our specials is still 9:00-9:50 and lunch is 10:40-11:10. Please check the review PowerPoints that I will be posting to my blog under each subject.

Reminders for Week of March 25th

March22

Thank you SO much for my cupcakes and class gift for my birthday! I love it!! 😊

~Report cards will go home today.

~The Color Run and Block Party is tonight from 6-8pm

~We will go to LMMS Wednesday, March 27th. Permission slips went home yesterday.

~Science (Physical and Chemical Changes) test will be Wednesday, March 27th.

~Social Studies (Cold War) test will be Thursday, March 28th.

~Scrapbook project due Friday, March 29th. The students are progressing well with this project! I can’t wait to see their final scrapbooks next Friday. I told them today they can start printing pictures at home to bring in. Most of them have finished with the research and are ready to start assembling their books.

~We will have our pizza party Friday, March 29th for our class winning the Rally Foundation donation out of the 3-5th grade classes. Thank you so much for your donations! It will be from Peace Love and Pizza and there will be cheese and pepperoni. If your child does not like pizza, they can bring in their own lunch or purchase from the school cafeteria. (I will go pick it up, unless there is a parent that could pick it up for us. Let me know if you are available.)

Week of March 18, 2019

~We had a wonderful time on the Blue Ridge field trip! The kids were awesome! The Blue Ridge staff complimented them more than once on how great they were. Thank you to all of the chaperones that went and helped make our trip fun and successful!

~Report cards will go home Friday, March 22nd. Please sign the white envelope and send back on Monday.

~We will visit LMMS on Wednesday, March 27th. Permission slips will go home tomorrow. Please sign and send back in on Friday.

~Human Growth & Development will be April 8th and 9th. If you haven’t sent in the permission slip form, please do by Friday.

~Due to Milestone testing our lunch and specials schedule will change starting April 8th.
9:00-9:50 – Specials (Still waiting on our lunch time, but it will be earlier than our normal 11:28 time)

~Milestone testing schedule – As of now our class will test on the following days from 12:00-2:00-
April 10-12 – ELA sections 1, 2, and 3
April 22-23 – Math sections 1 and 2
May 2 – Science sections 1 and 2 (start time will be 11:30)
May 3 – Social Studies sections 1 and 2 (start time will be 11:30)

Novel Study – Countdown (Students have started a 60’s Scrapbook project this week. The due date is Friday, March 29th)
WRITING – Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly. Develop the topic with facts, definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples related to the topic.
LANGUAGE ARTS – Object Pronouns
SS-Cold War (Test Thursday, March 28th)
