Today in READING…

We read chapter 20, and then you worked in groups of 3 to discuss and answer comprehension questions about the events of the chapter.

There is no homework tonight.

Today in LANGUAGE ARTS…

We examined the Milestone “Seven Point, Two Trait Rubric” that will be used to score your constructed response when you take the test.  Then you read and scored an actual response from the state. Tomorrow we will discuss its merits and shortcomings.  Then you will do the same with your own practice writing.  I can only hope you will be as critical of your own work as you are the one you read today!  😉

There is no homework tonight.

Today in READING…

You compared the experience of reading a piece of text with the experience seeing or listening to an audio of the same text.  This goes far beyond “they left _______ out of the movie”!  It was a great conversation!
Tonight for homework…

Don’t forget any books that need to be returned to the library!

Today in LANGUAGE ARTS…

You continued to share and review one another’s parodies.  We’ve got some funny, funny people in here!

all the runny noses…..

I’m not an expert, but judging from the spiking level of runny noses and sneezing in the classroom, I’d say pollen is nearing peak dreadfulness!

I will happily accept tissue donations for the next several weeks!

Thank you in advance.

Oh, and you have new seats! Fun times!

March 15, 2017

I missed you today! I was home with a fever… it seems that my family is going to just keep passing illness around and around and around. Ergh. I will see you tomorrow though!

Today in READING…

You read (and hopefully discussed) chapter 13 of the novel.  You should also have turned in your vocabulary terms so I can check your definitions.

There is no homework tonight!

Today in LANGUAGE ARTS…

You reviewed the rules for punctuating dialogue since that will certainly be an important element in your folk tale parody.

Tomorrow we will move forward with blind peer feedback as was planned for today.

There is no homework tonight.
