WOOHOOO! Testing is behind us, so we can focus on preparing for 7th grade for these last few weeks of school!

Today in READING…

You were assigned a partner, a novel, and a calendar/timeline for a novel study.  Remember these important details

  • you need to keep up with the reading and assignments assigned on the calendar
  • do not read ahead of the assigned chapter
  • if you do not have a written assignment on the due date (as indicated on the calendar you rec’d today) you will receive a 0 for the assignment.  Your partner is counting on you to be prepared so that you can work together on the assigned days (Tuesdays and Fridays).
  • there will be periodic, unannounced reading checks so that I can verify you are completing the assigned reading… these should be a breeze if you have completed the assigned pages
  • it would be a good idea to keep your novel in your backpack so that if you are absent one day you will still be able to keep up with the assigned reading – your partner is counting on you!

For homework over the next 3 1/2 weeks, you will need to finish any reading at home that you were unable to complete in class. Again, follow the calendar for your novel. If you use your time in class, the amount of reading to be completed at home should be minimal!

Calendars will be posted in a separate blog post.

TODAY in LANGUAGE ARTS…

You had 15 minutes to read your mystery novel.  Remember you need to be finished with your book by next Wednesday!

You also began brainstorming/prewriting for your own mystery.

Tonight for homework…

Read your mystery!

April 18, 2017

Your only homework for tonight is to go to sleep early, wake up early enough to get to school on time, and eat a well-rounded, healthy breakfast.  Remember, chicken biscuits will not be sold tomorrow, so if that is your usual plan, figure out Plan B!

So proud of how hard you have all worked all year.  This is your time to shine – and I know you will!
