December 6, 2017

Parents, please check with your son/daughter to see if they have pencils and paper.  It seems we have reached that time of year when supplies have run out!

This week in Reading…

We have continued to learn new vocabulary terms. At this point you have all 18 terms that you will need to know for your test next Thursday (12.14).

You have also continued your independent Historical Fiction Novel Study. I have collected your first set of 4 response questions, I will collect the next 4 at the start of class on Monday and the final 4 on December 15.

You received the rubric for your presentation which will be due on December 18.  We will continue to use class time to work on your responses and prepare for your presentations. We will have computers access each day next week.

Tonight for homework…

Begin reviewing your vocabulary words for the test next week.

This week in Language Arts…

You finished up your Nemo plot diagrams on Monday.  We are continuing to work with the elements of plot through the stories “Eleven” and “The Treasure of Lemon Brown”. You re-wrote the rising action of “Eleven” to change the conflict from internal to external, and to include dialogue and figurative language.

Wednesday night for homework…

Finish your “Eleven” re-write if you did not finish it in class.

There is no homework the rest of the week.
