September 18th

I finished up the Season’s Lab Stations sheets today.  I went over the remaining questions on the web quest and had students turn them in.  Students completed a “Ticket in the Door” to determine how students are progressing on the content.  We will complete a differentiated seasons activity tomorrow with the data.

September 17th

I went over the lab stations with the students to make sure that they understand the concepts.  I showed the students how to work the web quest again so that they can access it.  Here is the link for the web quest:

To get the Flash Player to work the web quest, click on the “i” in the circle on the address bar.  Click on “Site Settings”, look for “Flash”, arrow down to the allow button, then reload the web site.

Students began the Seasons Lab Stations today.  We will continue with these stations tomorrow.  Students will be expected to answer all of the questions that are on the Data Analysis.

Please be sure to bring both your Unit 1 Folder and your Unit 2 Folder.  I will be collecting the Unit 1 folder tomorrow.

Students completed illustrations of the seasons of the Earth.  This helps the students to visualize the position of the Earth in its orbit around the Earth.

September 11th

Science Blocks 1, 2, & 4:

I collected the Pluto paragraphs from last night’s homework.  I handed out the textbooks to the students.  Each student has their own consumable textbook.  I went over how to go through the textbook to get the most information from it.  Students should have completed the reading of pgs. 116 – 122 and the guiding activators throughout.

Homework: Lesson Review # 1-9 on page 123; bring colored pencils to class tomorrow

 

AC Science Blocks 3 & 5:

I collected the Pluto paragraphs from last night’s homework.  I handed out the textbooks to the students.  Each student has their own consumable textbook.  Students should complete the classwork before beginning the homework.  Students were introduced to Office 365 in class today.  I have set up the Class Notebooks and students now have online access to the syllabus and lab safety contract.

Homework: Complete classwork first: 1. complete p. 115 activators; 2. Read pages 116 – 122 and answer # 1- 18 throughout the reading; Complete Lesson Review # 1- 9 on page 123; bring colored pencils tomorrow

Students entered their answers into IRespond for the Unit 1 Assessment.  Students took a pretest for the next unit.  Students were given time to finish their Argumentative Writing on whether Pluto is a planet.
