All Grades

On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, we will be collecting all of our monies and orders for our fundraiser. We want to thank you for all participating in this fundraiser. The band cannot function without all the help that you provide.

We still need several parents to help with collecting money on those days. If you are available please fill out the signup genius:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090949abad2ba46-band

Below you will find the procedure for turning in Brochure Orders and for people just making donations. If you have any questions please email Mr. Grimes.

Brochure Orders

When you turn in a brochure order on Wednesday or Thursday you will need three things:

  1. Money for all the orders made out in one check to Dickerson Middle School
  2. Your order form. You can send in the original or a copy. If you send in an original we will make a copy and send the original back with your student.
  3. A pick sheet. The pick sheet is a order sheet with all the items you are ordering and the amounts. You can download the sheet below in either excel or PDF format. The Excel version will add the amounts for you.

All tests in band class are available for retakes if your student is not happy with their grade. Students may email Mr. Grimes a video of the test or come in at 8am for morning practice to retake the test. If you have any questions about our grading policies or procedures please refer to the band handbook.

Several of you have asked about the uniform for 6th grade concerts. Both the winter and spring 6th Grade Concert uniforms are T-Shirts and jeans. T-shirt order forms will be going out after Fall break. Please be on the look out for these.

FINAL INFORMATION FOR 8TH GRADE NIGHT

Parents,

Tomorrow night will be our 8th grade night at Walton High School. Just a reminder of a few things:

  • Students will be taking school busses to Walton after dismissal on Friday
  • Students will have all their personal belongings stored in the Walton Band Room during the game
  • We will be feeding the students pizza when they arrive at Walton. If your student does not eat pizza please pack them an alternative meal that they can bring with them from Dickerson. We ask that no parents try to drop off food.
  • Uniform for this performance will be shorts (school appropriate), comfortable shoes, and a T-Shirt that the students will receive upon arrival at Walton.
  • We will dismiss the students at the appropriate time (see procedures below), but this is a football game. We will not know the exact time for half time dismissal or end of game dismissal until we are very close to the time. We will have the students text/call you when we know the exact time.

Early Dismissal Procedures

  • If your student is checking out after half time we will have them text you when we know the time.
  • All students will be required to travel as a group back to the band room for checkout.
  • Once they have gathered their belongings we will travel to the front main entrance of the school where you can pick them up.
  • Since the students are leaving early, a parent/guardian/authorized adult, must sign them out with Mr. Grimes.
  • If you would like your student to be checked out by an adult other than you please send in a note.
  • We will not be releasing students until after half time is over.

After Game Dismissal Procedures

  • We will have the students text you when we have a better idea of when the end of the game will be. We are expecting to be sometime in the 9-9:30 time range.
  • All students will be required to travel as a group back to the band room for checkout.
  • Once they have gathered their belongings we will travel to the front main entrance of the school where you can pick them up.
  • If you would like your student to be checked out by an adult other than you please send in a note.
