Hi Kiddos,

Tonight’s homework is:

  • Math 6 – Study for your Unit 7 test Thursday.  Looking through your MSG will give you a good idea of the topics you will be asked about on the test. We will continue reviewing in class tomorrow.
  • Math 6/7 – BLOCK 4 p. 993, #1-8
  • Math 6/7 – BLOCK 5 p. 977, #1-13

Please bring a dry erase marker with you to class tomorrow.  Every class will be using them.

Hello and Happy Monday! I had a wonderful day with all of you today and I hope you had a nice Monday too.  We were busy today, but we always have a bunch to do in 514.  Tonight’s homework is:

  • Math 6 – None.  You continued working on your Coordinate City Project.  Since we did not cover new content there is no homework.
  • Math 6/7 – Block 4.  Please finish p. 977 # 1-9.
  • Math 6/7 – Block 5. None.  You took your Unit 9 test today, so there is no assigned homework.

Homeroom kiddos – please send in your envelope with two stamps on it.  This envelope will be used to send home your 4th quarter report card and any other end of the year papers that need to come to you.  If you do not return your envelope with stamps then your parents will need to come to the office and pick up your end of the year paperwork.

Block 3 Kiddos – CHALLENGE IS ON!  Our color run fundraiser starts today!  Please support the best third block in the building, the Durham Foundation, and have a great time with the color battle! Visit http://anython.com/ and enter your registration code that is on the colored sheet of paper I gave you in class today.  You can share the link and receive donations online (after you enter your access code), or you can bring in cash or check donations to Durham.  May the best class win (and by best, I mean ours, of course… 🙂 ).

I can’t wait to see you tomorrow! Have a wonderful evening.

Happy Star Wars Day! May the fourth be with you! 🙂

There is no assigned homework for any of the classes since we were in the computer lab taking the final Math Inventory of the year.  Have a fabulous Thursday evening.  I will see you tomorrow back in the computer lab.

Hello Math Brains,

We had quite an enjoyable day in room 514 today.  My 1st, 2nd, and 3rd blocks – I love seeing the progress you are making on your coordinate grid projects.  It is amazing to me that I can give 90 kids the same set of instructions and get projects that look so different.  The creativity you are bringing to your project really sets it apart from the rest, and I am proud of the effort and workmanship you are investing into this assignment.

4th block, you may have had a little less fin since you were taking a math test, but your math test was interrupted by the bike show, which was pretty exciting.  5th block – I missed seeing you today.  You will take your Unit 9 test after you finish your MI test this week.  I will certainly allow time to finish Monday if needed.

There is no assigned homework tonight.  If you are an orchestra student I will see you at the show tonight. 🙂

15 more days until you are done with 6th grade!  This year sure has flown by!

Hello Kiddos,

Can you believe it is May?  We have made it to the last month of 6th grade.  We still have a lot of work to do, so don’t start the summer countdown yet, but we are certainly in the “home stretch.”

Tonight’s homework is:

  • Math 6 – There is no assigned homework tonight since we did not cover new content in class.  Block 1 – You may begin your correction on the Touchstone for Unit 7 if you are choosing to complete one.  Blocks 2 and 3, you will be able to start yours tomorrow.  Corrections for the Touchstones are due Monday, May 8th.
  • Math 6/7 – p. 925, #4-9.

See you tomorrow!  Have a nice afternoon.
