I also passed out optional extra credit that you may complete and turn in tomorrow before the quiz. Remember to get your extra credit signed by your grown up. 🙂
See you tomorrow!

Here is the Unit 1 Parent Letter. There are useful links on the document. It will give you a good idea of where we are going and places to go for help if you need a little extra practice with any of the skills in the unit. M6U1-Parent-Letter-zoeh42
Today was hectic and busy, wasn’t it? Locker distribution day can be sort of crazy, but I promise you’ll get the hang of them before you know it. 🙂
There is no assigned homework this weekend, but I want to remind you of the Wildcat Way expectations.
- Be prompt
- Be prepared
- Be respectful
- Be cooperative
Next week students will start earning strikes in the PBIS system. Make sure you are prepared with your MSG (you will use it) so you stay strike free.
Have a great weekend. See you Monday.
6th Grade Locker Distribution is TOMORROW! Please make sure your Clinic Card and the Receipt of the Family Information Guide are turned in to your HOMEROOM teacher. We can’t issue a locker to you without those two forms.
All of my block continue to impress me, and I could not be happier with the first two days of school! Thank you for following the Wildcat Way and being punctual, prepared, respectful, and cooperative. You are already experts at this middle school thing!
Today in class we reviewed the syllabus and started setting up our MSGs. Homework tonight is to have the syllabus signed by your parents. If you have any questions about any of the information on it, do not hesitate to ask.
We are going to be sharing more information about the PBIS reward system we use here at Durham to track behavior strikes. You can learn a little more by exploring this website. The PBIS Rewards app is free and downloadable from Google Play or the iTunes store, so you can track strikes (points) on your device. If you don’t want to download the app to your device you can follow this link to learn more. Just follow the directions for setting up an account if you don’t have one already. https://app.pbisrewards.com/login.php
If you did not have your notebook for math today please make sure to bring one tomorrow. Our school store sells composition notebooks, so you can buy one there and avoid the lines at the stores.
See you tomorrow!
Hello Mathies! Thanks for doing your homework tonight and finding my blog! I LOVED being able to meet all of you today. I hope your first day of 6th grade was enjoyable. Getting around the hallways and the lunch line will get easier each day, and before you know it you will be moving around Durham like a pro.
Please come to class with the composition notebook that was listed on the 6th grade supply list. We are going to be setting up our math notebooks tomorrow. We call them MSGs, which stands for Math Survival Guide. Your MSG will be used almost daily in class. Other supplies that will help you set up your MSG tomorrow is a pencil, ink pen or some pen that writes in color, a highlighter, and a glue stick.
I can’t wait to see you tomorrow! Have a great night.
Homeroom kiddos – Remember to return your clinic card, your Receipt of the Family Information Guide, and your BYOD form. The clinic card and the Receipt of the Family Information Guide are due by Friday in order for you to get your locker assignment.
