Hello, kiddos!  I hope you are well and finding time to go outside and enjoy some of this beautiful sunshine!  Thank you for checking back for your digital tasks for the day.  Here they are:

Social Studies: Today you are going to learn about an element of personal finance – writing a check.  Although writing checks is not nearly as common as it used to be, it is valuable to know how to write one and the important information that is on every check.  Here is the link to the form:

Checks and Checking

Math: Today we are going to continue adding positive and negative integers.  I would love for you to try solving today’s problems without counters or number lines  after watching today’s video.  I know some of you will be able to “see” the problems without those tools, but if you need them today I promise you won’t need them forever.  Concrete connections can help build understanding of new concepts, and whether you use a number line, counters, or nothing depends on you. 🙂

  1. Watch this video for the rules for adding integers. You may want to write down the rules so you can apply them on the game and quizizz. Adding Integers
  2. Use this link to play a practice game with integer addition.  There are 3 different levels so you might want to start at level 1 to get the hang of it, then move to level that gives you a little challenge.  You may need to enable Adobe Flash on your computer, and it is possible that your device may not support it. Integer Addition Math Game
  3. Once you feel comfortable, take the Adding Integers Quizizz.  You can take this as many times as you want to earn the grade you are happy with.  It will be going in the gradebook.
    1. Block 3 – Adding Integers (Rudd/Wilford)
    2. Block 4 – Adding Integers (Rudd/Wilford)
    3. Block 5 – Adding Integers (Rudd)

That is all for today.  Let me know if you need anything. 🙂
