grade reading classes utilized the media center space and print books to go on blind dates with books. A variety of titles, including fiction and nonfiction, were chosen by the media center staff and featured at tables. Through a guided activity, students previewed a variety of features within titles including their cover art, title pages, and blurbs, to make judgements about whether or not they would read each book. Lastly, students added titles they would like to read to the Destiny Quest “Want to Read” shelves. They were eager and excited, and many checked out books they likely would not have typically.
