Here’s how:

IN PERSON:

Visit the library of your choosing and take proof of address and your school badge.

Expires: July 31, 2021

 

ONLINE:

Apply for a temporary card through contactus@cobbcat.org. Access online resources, place holds, use curbside hold pickup.

Expires: March 31, 2021

 

An EDUCATOR CARD affords check out of a total of 50 items, except DVDS, videes, adult popular best-sellers, and Interlibrary Loans with a check out period of 9 weeks. Access electronic resources, downloadable books, and more.

Use your Library P.A.S.S. (student number and 4 digit pin—birth month and date) to check out print books as well as digital content. The Cobb County Public Library System has abundant programming and resources available to CCSD students for FREE and is now even offering curbside checkout of print books! Check them out today!

Mrs. Baker is crazy excited about all the new books she and Mrs. Harper have added to Destiny and Sora!

There are literally thousands of ebooks and audiobooks available via Sora by Overdrive. New titles are continuously added, and the Sora app even supports checkout of ebooks and audiobooks from the Cobb County Public Library System. If you have never used Sora before, follow the Sora Login Screenshots to start taking advantage of this A-M-A-Z-I-N-G resource!

In addition to Sora, Cobb Digital Library offers FREE digital ebooks and audiobooks via Ebscohost and TumblePremium.

Did you know the Cobb County Public Library System is offering curbside checkout of print books? Use your Library P.A.S.S. (student number and 4 digit pin—birth month and date), to check out print books.

Beginning Wednesday September 9th, the Durham Library Learning Commons is offering curbside checkout! Place up to three print books on hold in Destiny, and pick them up on Wednesdays between 9 a.m. -11 a.m. and 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Be sure to bring any books you need to return with you as students will be permitted only three print books at a time for a check out period of up to three weeks, and students with overdue books should return them when they check out additional books.

2020 Summer Reading Adventure Begins June 1st!

The 2020 Summer Reading Adventure begins June 1st! We encourage all students and families to read 20 minutes each day for a total of 20 hours this summer

This year students and families will sign up for the Summer Reading Adventure through the Cobb County Public Library at http://www.cobbcat.org/summer/.

Welcome to Sora!

 

Mrs. Pettit’s, Mrs. Ragland’s, and Mrs. Salter’s eighth grade ELA students are getting a lesson from Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Webb on finding “just right books”using the Sora app which syncs digital content including ebooks and audiobooks from CCSD, Durham, and the Cobb County Public Library! Students will also utilize Collections in Destiny including “Mrs. Baker Recommends” and “Lexile 1000+” for guidance in choosing books they will enjoy. Lastly, the Dynamic duo of Baker and Webb will highlight books through Book Talks. In partnership with CCSD’s Department of Library Media, Local Public Library Librarians Mrs. Jennifer Wells and Mrs. Angie Bozeman recently visited 6th graders for a preview of resources, programs, and events available to them. The public library offers extensive Summer Learning. Be sure to check out www.cobbcat.org for all the awesomeness that’s just up the road. CCSD students have access to materials using their PASS account which consist of their student number and their four-digit birth month and date.  Mrs. Baker hopes to see you there over the summer, and don’t forget the Summer Reading Program Kick-off Party!
