Mrs. Erin Baker, Library Media Specialist
Mrs. Erin Baker is currently serving her seventh year as Library Media Specialist at Durham Middle School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education/English both received from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. She began her career in education as an English teacher and cheerleading coach at Meadowcreek High School in Gwinnett County in 2000 and later moved to Cobb County teaching English at McEachern High School followed by Harrison High School where she also sponsored the National Honor Society. After several years of teaching high school English, Mrs. Baker entered Graduate school at the University of West Georgia completing a Master’s in Education with an emphasis in School Library Media in 2009. As a student advocate, she works daily towards utilizing Durham Media Center resources including technology, print, digital, and staff to tasks directly impacting student learning and achievement. Mrs. Baker collaborates with teachers throughout Durham to meet grade and subject specific standards through co-planning and co-teaching and also guides students and faculty towards achieving digital information literacy skills by advertising, promoting and training them to use the county’s online resources through Cobb Digital Library. Mrs. Baker is a member of the Cobb County Association of Library Media Specialists (CCALMS) and the Georgia Library Media Association (GLMA) and is a life-long learner who has a passion for reading, research, and academics as well as for helping students and teachers. Mrs. Baker has been selected as the Durham Teacher of the Year for the 2017-18 school year. Mrs. Tracey Webb, Library Media Paraprofessional
Mrs. Webb has been the media paraprofessional at Durham Middle School since 2009. She is originally from Arbroath, Scotland and studied International Business at Dundee College of Commerce. After a variety of jobs including working in the Italian Alps, the public library in her hometown, and for the local radio station, she moved to this side of the world in 1991 to work for Royal Caribbean International. After meeting her husband on board the ship they both worked on, they set up home in Cobb County, where her husband grew up. Mrs. Webb started with Cobb County Schools as a substitute teacher in 2002 when her son was in 1st grade. He is now a sophomore at UGA, go Dawgs! Mrs. Webb is a member of the Cobb County Association of Library Media Specialists (CCALMS). Mrs. Webb was selected as the Durham Middle School Classified Employee of the Year for the 2015-16 school year. The media center was always Mrs. Webb’s favorite place to substitute, and Durham’s Media Center is absolutely the best place to work!
